Interview with Author – Paddy Tyrrell

I was raised in Kent, the garden of England, and lived in an Oast House whose round rooms were once used for drying hops. Must be why I’ve enjoyed a drink ever since!

At university, I fell in love with medieval French writing, discovered The Gormenghast Trilogy, and became hooked on fantasy.

I have sailed down the Yangste, survived an earthquake in Cairo, and picnicked in the Serengeti. My travels for work and pleasure have inspired my fantasy world. I now live in France with a naughty Australian Labradoodle, a jealous cat and a squash mad husband. Our two huskies, Ice and Sapphire, are sadly now gone but are transformed into wolves and immortalized in my book. Lumina is my debut novel and the first in a trilogy.

Interview with Author – Judith Pratt

Interview with Author – Judith Pratt

I’ve been an actor, a director, a theatre professor, and a freelance writer. I’ve studied playwriting, theatre history, and how to teach actors. My plays have been produced in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Kansas City MO, and (I love this!) Cape Town, South Africa.
Then a character in one of my plays had a new story to tell—a story that would never fit on a stage. So I wrote a novel, The Dry Country. That was so much fun that I wrote another novel, Siljeea Magic, and got it published by Black Rose Writing! You can find both novels on Amazon.
Now I’m working on another novel, and another play.
I live in Ithaca, NY, with a husband and three cockatiels.

My short fiction has been nominated for both Nebula (Cymodoce, May ‘95 Tomorrow Magazine) and Pushcart (The Weight, Nov ‘95 The Granite Review) and has recently appeared in Across the Margin, The New Accelerator, parAbnormal, serialized in The Piker Press, and HDP 3. My first indie novel, The Augmented Man, is getting 4 and 5 star reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes&Noble, and others. My two self-pubbed books, Empty Sky and Tales Told ‘Round Celestial Campfires, are getting 5 star reviews (and I have more books in the works). I hold patents covering mathematics, anthropology, neuroscience, and linguistics. When not writing, I spend time loving my wife, playing with my dog and cat, flying kites bigger than most cars, cooking for friends and family, playing and listening to music, and studying anything and everything I believe will help my writing.

Interview with Author – Jennifer Priester

Interview with Author – Jennifer Priester

Jennifer is self employed as an author, publisher, artist, and photographer. She enjoys all forms of storytelling and probably spends a little too much time in fictional worlds. Much of her free time is spent reading books, watching tv and movies, and playing video games. She also has many other hobbies and interests as well. Some of her other hobbies include; building jigsaw puzzles, riding her bike, spending time outdoors, listening to music, and daydreaming. Jennifer is a former bowler and horseback rider. She does still go bowling for fun sometimes, but not enough for her to consider it one of her active hobbies. Jennifer loves animals and has had many pets throughout her life. Although none of her pets have been unusual, they have all been very unique. She’s had a rabbit that she taught to play dead, a dog that would do anything for a blanket, a bird that liked to hang upside down from her swing, and a fish that would let her pet it. Several of her pets were adopted from animal shelters, beginning with her second rabbit. Jennifer grew up with, and still has, a highly misunderstood anxiety disorder called selective mutism, which leads people to believe those with it choose when not to talk when that’s not the case. She also has social anxiety disorder, so she is a big supporter of mental health awareness.

By the second grade, she had figured how to put together a story and says, “I started writing the kinds of stories I wanted to read but couldn’t find.” Her school years were populated with fanciful stories and many drafts, but it would many years until her dream of being an authorwould come to life.

Interview with Author – Nathan Ayersman

Born in the flat rural terrain of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, I occupied my mind with the escapism of fantasy novels to explore the worlds created by Robert Jordan, Brian Jacques, and Christopher Paolini. Eventually, the image of a sword with a hilt in the shape of a dragon’s mouth came to me and inspired me to write what would eventually become the Ancient’s Armor series. The first book “The Dragon’s Rising” took several years to write while also attending veterinary school and starting my career as a veterianrian, but I expect the books that follow to have a shorter delay.
