What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The original inspiration arose when I had to entertain my son and four of his newfound friends as they sheltered in our beach tent during a showery beach holiday. The stories multiplied over the course of the next few showery afternoons. They lay buried for almost 40 years before I attempted self publication via Amazon'Kindle.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The leading character came about because among the new friends playing on the beach was a ginger-headed boy who was the smallest in the group. He was being ordered around by his playmates: come here, go there, get this or that. He became the hero of my stories, overcoming every challenge in his path and growiing into a hero who cared for those weaker than he.
