It’s 2047. Secrets have been revealed. And Washington wants revenge.
Dray Quintero learned an ugly truth: the leaders in D.C. are fake. They’ve stolen the identities of those duly elected to Congress and are determined to stay in power, using his own technology against him and the rest of the population.
After revealing the dangers of their government-mandated implants to his fellow citizens, and calling on everyone to rise up, Dray joins the already-underway rebellion. But his joining is as much to free the United States as it is to avenge his daughter’s death. Before he can strike, The Agency attacks with devastating consequences. Dray and the other survivors are forced to run. Agents hunt them, cutting off resources and hope.
Then Dray makes a discovery that could change their fate–and the future of the nation.
As he and the rebels prepare a bold offensive, his wife Mina broadcasts a preposterous claim. He must choose between the fight and a desperate hope. Between family and country.
What he does will change everything.
The Price of Rebellion is the action-packed second installment of The Price Of series from multiple-award-winning author Michael C Bland.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
We are already tracked and monitored more than most people realize. How much more extreme will that become in 25 years? If technology is used to oppress and limit people, how could someone fight back? If their loved ones were in trouble, how could they protect them?
In my novel, the main character Dray Quintero helped create the technology that monitors everyone. He’d thought it would keep everyone safe. But when his nineteen-year-old daughter commits a crime, he covers it up to save her life. This starts him down a path where he discovers nothing is as he thought it was. The Price of Rebellion is the continuation of that journey, where he has to risk everything for those he loves.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The main character, Dray Quintero, was inspired by my grandfathers. Both were engineers, one chemical and the other metallurgical, and both tried to sign up for WWII after Pearl Harbor but were rejected because of their engineering skills. Instead, one helped build ships for the war, and the other worked at a bomb making factory in Texas. I created Dray to honor them. The other characters stemmed from there—though there have been some surprises. Garly was originally just a minor character, but he leapt off the page, and was so much fun to write, that I brought him back in The Price of Rebellion, elevating him to a major character.
