Author Bio:
Nicholas Fisher has published two horror collections and two novels under a different name. His first young adult book is “Becky’s Kiss,” coming out through Vinspire publishing November 30th, 2015. This is a paranormal romance.
Nicholas is a college professor of English. He plays the banjo, loves sports, and lives in Pennsylvania.
What inspires you to write?
I am inspired to write by people. They are so naturally funny, silly, sad, and dramatic that it seems a shame not to document it in some way. When I read a good story by someone else it makes my day, so I thought I would try it myself.
Tell us about your writing process.
I prefer not to outline so the writing will be filled with surprises! Also, if I don’t know what’s coming I can’t telegraph it to readers.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I don’t talk to my characters, but soon they begin “writing themselves” so to speak. Once I reach that point, the book is really going strong.
Who are your favorite authors?
Stephen King is my favorite. The Stand and Christine are my favorites of his.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I chose traditional publishing because I felt the product would be better than what I might put together myself in terms of cover and overall presentation.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of publishing is going toward more self promotion and projects that would translate to film and television.
