Author Bio:
I’ve been writing seriously for the past decade. In that time, my stories and articles have been published in books, magazines and newspapers in the UK, UAE, USA, Canada, Australasia, China, Germany and Sweden. I’ve also completed 15 screenplays.
What inspires you to write?
I used to be a television cameraman and director so it was always in my blood to tell stories and to entertain the public. Writing was a logical progression for me. I love the idea of entertaining as well as informing readers with my material.
Tell us about your writing process.
I’m definitely NOT an outliner! I can only write organically. When I sit down to write, I simply open my mind and let the inspiration flow. I believe I have an inner voice guiding my hand as I write. I am also excited as the story develops as i don’t have any idea where it will lead. After the first draft, I edit it and find this is where the real work is, but I enjoy the process as much as creating the story originally.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
half of the 22 books I’ve written are non fiction but when I write fiction, I try and visualize my characters. I also model them on people I have met and have had some interaction with in the past. I like my characters to be a little eccentric and independent. It’s easier for me to construct situations for them if they have minds of their own.
Who are your favorite authors?
Although i always have at least 6 books to read, I don’t read fiction. I am particularly interested in spirituality, parapsychology, history, aviation, and self help books.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Only one of my books has been released through a publisher. The rest are all self published. When I have finished a book, I like to get it out there into the market place. I’m too impatient to wait for a conventional publishing house to make a decision on whether they will take the book or not.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think conventional paper books will continue to be available. There is something special about feeling a page and turning it with your fingers.
What genres do you write?
I write self help, YA, mystery, romance, travel and trivia
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print
