What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Reclaiming Ryda began as a retelling of Rapunzel, but as I wrote, it morphed into its own creation inspired by the classic fairy tale with elements of East of the Sun West of the Moon thrown into the mix.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Various ways. In the case of Reclaiming Ryda, it was an idea of what would make months in a tower tolerable and the first idea that came to mind was if it also included a library. Ryda, my captive librarian came to life. Her hero was more inspired by the usual hero from East of the Sun West of the Moon, a bear. Crispin has many bear-like qualities and references, but he is only a man.
