Author Bio:
Fondly known as ‘Yubi’, one of Ubong’s favourite sayings is:”If you can’t see a future, you won’t have a future”. His passion for discovering and living life goals has affected people all over the world. Whether its training and inspiring over a thousand people in corporate trainings and workshops, consulting leaders and Global teams on growth and development of their employees or speaking at various events, Yubi is always ready with a story and practical ways to help lead meaningful, engaging and fulfilling lives and careers. A family man who believes that personal mastery leads to outward success, his books provide a fresh approach to helping people make good choices and enjoy their lives. He writes a blog, has had his writing featured on the Project Management institute’s Career Management Website and has a course on “Fixing Your Life Focus” on Udemy.

What inspires you to write?
Mainly my experiences, research and reflections on life, people development plus the good ideas that spring from conversations with others.
I’ve always contemplated on making life easier and the storyteller in me has had scripts and scenes playing through my mind as a child and to date. I love the challenge of making complex themes simple and introducing new paradigms to help people get to a new level of fulfilment.
A lot of my writing plays upon my experience in coaching, consulting, people and organizational development which has been my passion for the past seven years. I see one of my major life goals as helping others discover their own life goals. This message keeps flowing out of my writing and speaking.

Tell us about your writing process.
The process has repeated with my first two books where I have a theme predominantly occupying my thoughts which eventually is triggered into writing by an experience or an idea I encounter. There is always an igniting point as I reflect on thoughts and ideas. This is where it all starts and an outline begins to form.
I always build an outline around a theme or title that floats in my head.
I then combine traditional methods and digital tools to bring the outline to life.
As much as I love the feel of paper, a good old notepad or word document helps me write. I am highly tech savvy and yet, have not found writing software very appealing.
I always have my iphone handy and filed information on ideas for new books, new thoughts on current books, articles or corporate trainings or my blog. I read autobiographies/biographies a lot and this keeps my creative writing juices flowing all the time. This is one of my main energizers to the whole process. I hear the voices of John Maxwell, Marshall Goldsmith, Jack Canfield, Peter Daniels and other successful people sharing their ideas in my head as I analyze various topics. My own experience and reflections add the secret sauce and put it all to boil.

Who are your favorite authors?
John Maxwell, Mike Murdock, Seth Godin, Michael Hyatt, Jack Canfield have authored some of my favorite books.
The passion for living, how to live a good life and taking your unique message to the world breathes through their work.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I’ve always dreamt of writing and publishing books. From comics I created as a child to my first fiction novels I created at around 9-11 years of age with my sister’s typewriter, making impact on people’s lives through writing has driven me continuously. My parents had a rich home library and a pile of gramophone records which sat opposite the library shelves in our study.
I think this created a powerful connection in my childhood mind of how knowledge and the beauty of music seemed tied.
On occasion, I do compose my own music and at points where ideas flow, it feels like a piece of music being arranged in my mind. It’s a wonderful experience.
When I conceived the idea of my first book, “The A.R.T of Motivation: Rediscovering Your Core Design”,I had been playing with ideas on how I could get to a global audience. I had led several training sessions on ecommerce in which I had simulated ordering a kindle from Amazon’s website.
When I was ready to find a publisher, I thought to myself: “Why don’t I publish on Amazon’s KDP?”
Throughout 2012, I researched the Amazon platform and publishing capabilities learning a lot from internet marketer Ryan Deiss. In September 2012, I began helping a friend get his book ready for Kindle and in October last year, my wife asked me point-blank:”Why don’t you start writing books?” Yeah I said, I should and I will. A few weeks later as I pondered in this direction, the idea for “The A.R.T of Motivation” sprang to my mind as I commuted and on getting to the office I began writing like crazy. Getting it on Amazon Kindle followed during Christmas holidays of 2012. It’s been on Amazon Kindle for about a month now and is helping a lot of people out there: http://www.amazon.com/The-A-R-T-of-Motivation-ebook/dp/B00AUJXX8W
Access to publishers from Europe presented a significant hurdle so Amazon Kindle seemed like a logical decision presenting my ideas to the world.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I still love the feel of a book in my hands on paper and a lot of readers still do.
Both digital(video, audio and digital print) and paper publishing will remain for decades to come.
I am particularly excited about audio books and video.
The best experience for readers of the future will be a fusion of these different experiences although as always, the good old paperback remains a classic for all time.

What genres do you write?
non-fiction

What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print
