Author Bio:
Emeline Piaget is an interracial romance author. Born and raised in WNY, she has attended varies universities and served in the military. She currently lives in the South with her doggos and her kiddies.
What inspires you to write?
I am a romantic at heart. I believe in love at first sight and fairy tales. Love is one of those universal forces that you can't avoid, especially when you are trying to.
Tell us about your writing process.
I carry notebooks everywhere, to include the notes program on my phone. I jot down ideas and loosely outline. My notebooks have character bios, ages, likes, and dislikes. Whether they make it into the story or not, it helps me get a complete idea of who they are as a person.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I see my characters lives happening like I'm watching a movie. Tell don't talk to me but I feel intricately connected to them.
Who are your favorite authors?
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Shannon Dianne, and James Patterson.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I self-publish. I like having the control over when I write and release. The hardest part of self-publishing is lack of promotion budget. You have these, in my opinion, incredible characters that you want to share with the world but they may not reach someone that needs that story because of lack of money.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it's a good thing that self-publishing is such a relatively easy process. I think it will allow more and more books to see the light of day that might not have because publisher might not have liked it and denied it.
What genres do you write?
Fiction, romance
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print
