Interview with Author – Langdon Franz
I grew up a Navy brat and for the first twenty years of my life, I was moving every two to three years. I’ve lived everywhere from Maine to South Carolina to Washington State. Because of this, I didn’t have many friends growing up, so I found my solace in reading fantasy novels. By the time I was thirteen, I was already working on writing my own stories. They weren’t very good. When I was twenty-two, I joined the Navy, got married and moved to Washington State to operate a nuclear reactor on a submarine. Six years later, and I was out and moved back to North Carolina where I currently reside with my wife, two daughters, two dogs and two cats. I finished my Bachelors in Nuclear Engineering Technology in 2016 and quickly realized I no longer wanted anything to do with nuclear power and power plants. I began writing again, and by 2020 I had completed two books and started a third. But like my attempts when I was thirteen, they weren’t very good. I decided to pursue a MA in English and Creative Writing and finished it in 2022. One year later, and I’ve published my first book, Heirs of the Promise!
Interview with Author – Rebecca Holmes
I’m a fantasy author based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. When I’m not writing or reading, I sew my own clothing and play games on PC. My favourite video games are the strategy, survival, building types – especially those rich in lore and immersive world building. I’d by lying if I said the games I play never influence my writing! I used to think that inventing entire worlds and cultures in my head was something everybody did in their spare time. Then I realized this may or may not be a talent I should put to good use.
As a reader, I devour as many fantasy books as I can get my hands on, with the occasional diversion into science fiction or purely historical fiction. Genre-bending, trope-smashing and upside down perspectives are always welcome. I seek novelty and aim to create it in my own work. I’m an ‘oddball’ reader, who will seek out hidden gems that no one is talking about in preference to the big names of the moment.
Interview with Author – Haley Anna Marie
Due to childhood deafness, the writer inside created stories to match the pictures in the books being read to me. Once my hearing was corrected at the age of 7, I fell in love with storytelling.
My six-book dark fantasy series, Elementas, is my prized possession. I can’t wait to share my story with the world.
Interview with Author – Robin M Farella
Robin is an author and grew up in Chicago. She currently lives in Southern California with her family, two dogs and one cat who she considers her co-author. When she’s not spending time in the World of Asadore, she loves to be outdoors visiting National Parks. Bryce Canyon and Zion are two of her favorites. She is a superfan of fantasy and historical fiction stories and loves to write stories that she knows other superfans would love to read.
Interview with Author – Marieke Lexmond
Marieke Lexmond reads tarot cards and loves food, photography, and travel. She has three sassy little dogs that she likes to take everywhere and even have their own Instagram account @urbandogsquad. Her background in filmmaking enabled her to travel and live around the globe. Storytelling is in her blood, from saving her allowance from a very young age to buy books to her master’s degree from the Dutch Film Academy. Fantasy and science fiction are her favorite genres. She prefers to write fun and mystical stories. Her attraction to nature and places with a magical history brought her to New Orleans and the West Coast of Ireland. As a pagan, she felt an instant connection to the land; it feeds her imagination and has become the inspiration for the Madigan Chronicles.
Interview with Author – Lynne Howard
I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and continue to reside there with my husband, our three children (ages 24, 23 and 15) and our two dogs. I graduated from law school in Toronto in 1995 and practiced law for several years before I decided to change my professional path. With the encouragement of my husband, I went back to school and became a teacher. I have been teaching Grade 11 and Grade 12 Law, as well as other Social Sciences courses at a private high school for over twenty years. I have also taught part-time at a university in Toronto, and I have written non-fiction publications for teachers and students. I enjoy doing volunteer work in my community and participating in extra-curricular activities at my school. I find the time to write my novels on weekends and holidays. I am so grateful to my family for all their support and for giving me the time I need to write.
Interview with Author – Emilia Ramos Samper.
My name is Emilia Ramos Samper and I am one of the youngest people to ever publish a novel. My hobbies include theatre, voice, and playwriting!
Interview with Author – Remy Apepp
Remy is fond of understatements. Some of Remy’s favorite understatements include the following:
Remy likes writing.
If stories were stars, Remy would want to write an entire night sky full.
Remy writes stories for the same reason explorers adventure into and chart unknown territories—and also for the same reason people treat headaches by drinking water, eating snacks, taking pain meds, going for light walks, and getting rest.
All Remy wants from life is to write stories that touch you in the same place music does; that make you think differently than before; and that linger in your mind as if they’d been written into clay tablets rather than printed on paper or typed on screens.
Also, Remy can write a novel in a month but can’t write an author bio in a year.
Interview with Author – Nora Delzelle
When she was growing up in the 1970’s, Nora Delzelle felt like the only girl who loved science fiction and fantasy novels. Some of her most cherished childhood memories happened at the local library, discovering those adventure stories. That love of science and adventure eventually led to a fulfilling career, and as time went on she was inspired to tell her own stories. Death Mask is her exciting debut novel in a series about cursed antiquities. Ms. Delzelle has been an avid white-water rafter, a movie extra, a scientist, and now an author.
Interview with Author – Lyndsey Hall
I’m a YA fantasy author from a little town on the edge of Sherwood Forest, England. I’ve always loved reading, anything with animals was my go to as a child, but I really got into fantasy when I was a teenager and I discovered Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl. My first story was a school project when I was ten where we had to write a poem in the style of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes. I wrote a retelling of Red Riding Hood, and it ended up being shown around all the primary schools in the area. But I started writing seriously in 2016 and published my debut novel, The Fair Queen in August 2020.
Interview with Author – Karin Cox
Karin L Cox is the author of the DARK GUARDIANS paranormal romance and dark fantasy series (Cruxim, Creche, and Creed), several short story and poetry anthologies, and a New Adult romance novel ‘What the Sea Wants.’ She officially has too many words in her brain, usually all swimming around in wine. Often, they come out in dribs and drabs, or sometimes in poetic explosions, but mostly she has to coax them out one at a time and wrangle them into line.
She lives in sunny Queensland, Australia, where she occasionally hits the beach in an effort to avoid a vitamin D deficiency from shutting herself in a dark room to converse with fictional people. She comes with all the usual accessories: cat, dog, kids, full-grown man-child, several outfit changes, and shoes she can’t seem to walk in so swaps for thongs/flip-flops. She would also like a dream house, a hot pink camper with a waterslide, and an unrealistically proportioned waist.
She enjoys camping, dancing, folk music, poetry, writing, wine and sometimes even Facebook.
