Interview with Author – Myron Edwards

Myron Edwards BIO

Myron was born in 1952 in Orsett, Essex, England, as the youngest son to Welsh parents, Iris and Bill Edwards. Upon leaving school, he went into the travel industry. He travelled the world, working in travel agencies, as a tour operator, and for airlines for some 30 years. In 1976, Myron began freelance writing for the BBC, radio, and television. His credits include The Two Ronnies, Week Endings, and The News Huddlines. In 1980, he joined JWT advertising, as a copywriter, writing his first TV commercial for dog food inside 10 days. Always artistic and inventive, he created Tubewalking in 1987, a new map concept, to help people get around London easier on foot, which still operates today. In 1990, he married Niki, whose family background is Greek Cypriot. On a family trip to Cyprus and while visiting Aphrodite’s Rock for the first time, the beginnings of his passion to write the story of Mistress of the Rock came to fruition.
Moving his family in 2005 to Cyprus to live, gave him the opportunity to write, as during this time he worked on campaigns for TV and Radio in an advertising agency in Limassol. The first manuscript of the book was completed in 2007. Released by a local publisher, it had a limited audience but was well received by those who read it. He has now completed the sequel and is working on the third part of the story. Myron has three adult children, two sons, and a daughter.

Interview with Author – Katherine Vick

Katherine Vick was born in the middle bit of England longer ago than she’d care to admit (1979, if you must know. Aren’t you nosy?). She studied Geography at University of Wales, Aberystwyth, writing her dissertation on the Role of Landscape and Culture in Fantasy Novels. She then moved onto a Master’s degree in Literary Studies and Creative Writing at University of Central England, where she wrote the dissertation that inspired the creation of Fodder, so she hopes you’ll feel she put her education to good use. She flirted briefly with fast food and retail work before settling down as a college administrator. She spends occasional weekends on historic battlefields in her capacity as a rather clumsy late medieval re-enactor. She (mis)spent a part of her youth writing stories based around other people’s literary and media creations. She likes to read and watch fantasy, history and science fiction – frankly anything that gets her away from the real world, which is far too much trouble. Occasionally she even gets around to writing stuff.

Interview with Author – Cady Hammer

Interview with Author – Cady Hammer

I have always been a writer. I wrote my first novel at the age of eleven between classes. Although that text will never see the light of day, I continued experimenting with stories throughout my school years. I was often teased for being off in my own world a bit, but I have never hesitated to invite others along on the adventure I was weaving. My college studies of history and anthropology play a major role in the worldbuilding in my stories, particularly this debut novel. It is always my goal to create a world that readers want to step into, a world where they can breathe in the air and feel the wind on their skin as they stroll through a market or a city center. I also run the internationally-read website, Fluff About Fantasy, a place for young writers to learn the genre-specific craft of writing fantasy and be inspired by what they can accomplish. It is important to me to get more young people writing and creating. I know that there are a lot of talented middle school, high school, and college students who just need a little push to get them started.

Interview with Author – Stacey Bryan

I was born in San Francisco but raised in the San Fernando Valley in L.A. , something I think was a mistake because San Francisco has more character, in my opinion. I was a loner who climbed trees and hung out with my black cat Mr. Smith and, yes, (cliche) read a lot. I love stories of any kind: books, movies, someone telling a tale. I can be very dark in my topics but lately have ventured into paranormal comedy with my Day for Night series, book II of which hopefully will come out later in 2020. I figure laughing is better than crying, so I dove into a world of vampires and aliens and a mixed-race wannabe L.A. actress who just wants to go back to school but gets mixed up in all their drama instead.

Interview with Author – Paddy Tyrrell

I was raised in Kent, the garden of England, and lived in an Oast House whose round rooms were once used for drying hops. Must be why I’ve enjoyed a drink ever since!

At university, I fell in love with medieval French writing, discovered The Gormenghast Trilogy, and became hooked on fantasy.

I have sailed down the Yangste, survived an earthquake in Cairo, and picnicked in the Serengeti. My travels for work and pleasure have inspired my fantasy world. I now live in France with a naughty Australian Labradoodle, a jealous cat and a squash mad husband. Our two huskies, Ice and Sapphire, are sadly now gone but are transformed into wolves and immortalized in my book. Lumina is my debut novel and the first in a trilogy.
