What inspires you to write?
Watching success of other Authors and their hard work inspires me to write and I usually write down Ideas on a notebook to keep myself remembering it. I am forgetful that is why I need to write down when an idea or inspiration suddenly comes to mind. I observe my surroundings and read a lot, that contributes as inspiration to some of my writing projects.
Tell us about your writing process.
Outlining helps me write in proper order but sometimes I just write when I am in the mood and on the spot. I use to write a summary for each chapter so I would know what should happen next. I just let the characters tell their stories as if they are alive and that gives me an idea of what should they do next.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I just listen to their emotions and what their personalities are like. I don't talk to them as if they were listening to me, I am the one who gives them life, so I am in control. I would be crazy if I think my characters speaks back to me that would be an illness.
Who are your favorite authors?
J.K. Rowling is an inspiration to me, her life story and struggle as author gives me motivation as a writer. Neil Gaiman, I have read his Sandman comics. I read different books from a variety of authors and there is no specific author that I only read.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I got lots of rejections as a first time Author which most do have to go through, I know rejections is not only for those who are bad at writing but literary agents and publishers seek a book that will sell and has a market. I know only those with talent and have a unique voice are mostly chosen as a published author. I know I don't have a big talent in writing, just a work in progress but I want my readers to see me develop my skills that is why I chose to self-publish my books.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I do believe both Traditional and Self-publishing will continue and I think it is just a matter of preference for the Author just as long as there is a way to make their books reach readers. Some readers prefer electronic books that does not take too much space on their shelves and is portable while others like something they could touch and feel to go into reading anytime.
