Author Bio:
Natalie P. Jenkins is an award winning author from Salyersville, Kentucky. She has written two books, a memoir “Fourteen Day Fiancé” and a novel “After The Storm” set your be released in December of 2020.
Natalie is a professionally trained writer, with many years of experience. She began her career in 2015 by translating books into French and Spanish, most notably her translation of “How To Be Filled With The Holy Spirit” by famed Christian Author A.W. Tozer.
What inspires you to write?
Honestly, a lot of things inspire me when it comes to writing, but my inspiration came when I was at my lowest point in life after my fiancé died. At about the sixth month after his death, I had this drive to turn my life around, even though I was grieving. I knew that I had to share my feelings to the world, I also needed something to do with all that new free time on my hands anyway, and that’s how I wrote my first book, continuing to write ever since.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process is simple. I sit down, either with my phone or at my computer and I write. I don’t really outline stories, I kind of just write what I feel and then go back and edit it later. However, there was one time I wrote a piece for a writing contest and, I chose to write about historical figures, so I had to outline just a bit to get the story line and timeline straight.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Joyce Carol Oates and Dean Koontz.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Publishing a book has always been my greatest desire that started in early childhood. In some weird way, I always knew I’d end up writing a book and having it published, but it was one of those things that seemed like it was too good to be true. Then, I learned
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I personally think that in the future more books will be self published. It’s fast and other authors I’ve worked with in the past have all considered self publishing.
