Author Bio:
Born in Queens and raised in Jersey, voracious reader and now published author. I live in Central Jersey with my husband, daughter and bulldog.
What inspires you to write?
The people I see out in the world and wondering about who they are and then creating it. Also Bukowski always Bukowski.
Tell us about your writing process.
I’m a middle of the night manic type writer. Once I have an idea I just latch onto it and keep going. I never outline I pretty much have a very loose form in my mind and I just build from that. My writing is very raw.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I feel like their friends and I spend so much time with them I almost can see them sitting on my couch. It’s impossible not to get somewhat attached.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite book of all time is called “a guide to recognizing your saints” by Dito Montiel, he is an amazing writer I’ve given people my copy so many times I’ve repurchased it at least 10 times. Of course Charles Bukowski his poetry, his stories are so real and visceral he just throws it out there I love him.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
It’s really hard with traditional publishers and it is incredibly disheartening to be rejected over and over. Self publishing makes you feel like you have control and gives you a chance, so many amazing authors are now self publishing because otherwise they would never be heard.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the indie self publishers are going to prevail because big publishers just aren’t open to a lot of new ideas and they’re really missing the mark.
What genres do you write?
Fiction, short stories, literary fiction
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print
