Leann Ryans Author Bio:
I’m a wife and mother of three who’s been an avid reader since I could pick up a book. It wasn’t unusual for me to read a book a day, ignoring the real world as I was sucked into the pages of a great story.
I grew up on sci-fi and fantasy books before discovering the world of romance. PNR has always been my go-to, and omegaverse is my addiction of choice.
I love writing books featuring heroes who are a bit rough around the edges but aren’t overly cruel. My heroines aren’t always the take charge type, but neither are all women. They are comfortable in their femininity.
If you’re looking for a story that has dark themes without leaving you wanting to punch the hero in the face, mine might just be for you.
What inspires you to write?
I've always gotten ideas for stories I'd love to read and one day I finally decided if I really wanted to read it I'd just have to write it myself.
Tell us about your writing process.
I'm a discovery writer. My ideas usually come as scenes, so I sit down and write out the scene then keep going. I write romance so the goal is to get the two characters together, but I have no idea what route we're going to take to get there.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters come to me fully formed, and as I write them their personality develops. Their reactions direct the story, and I mostly let them do what they want to get where we're aiming for.
Who are your favorite authors?
I read a wide variety and I cannot claim any one author as my favorite. I have many one-click authors: Nora Ash, Alicia Montgomery, Ophelia Bell, Penelope Bloom, Erika Ridley… It just depends on my mood and who just released.
What genres do you write?
PNR, Sci-Fi romance, Erotic romance
How did you choose the genre(s) you write?
I most read PNR and Sci-Fi romance, so the ideas I have are usually in line with those. I've written a couple more contemporary stories but omegaverse is what I love and what I generally stick to.
What three things are on your writing desk at any given moment?
My phone, a drink, and a spray bottle for the dogs. Or the kids, depending on who's being more annoying.
What hobbies do you have when you need a break from writing?
I read. I've always been an avid reader and when I find it difficult to write usually reading a good book or two helps.
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print, Audiobook
