Author Bio:
Kris Ann Brown resides in beautiful Northeast Wisconsin.
When she’s not writing, she loves reading, Bible studies, everything to do with Christmas, hiking in the woods and playing with her Ragdoll kitty Jingles.
What inspires you to write?
Inspiration comes to me through prayer, walking in nature, and sometimes comes from reading other books. Writing is cathartic for me, pouring my stories out to bless others makes my soul sing.
Tell us about your writing process.
Definitely a seat of the pants writer. I am not organized at all, and find it's best for me to just sit down and write, editing at a later date. I dabbled with using software, but it ended up being confusing. I prefer to use a simple editing tool.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I try to listen to my characters, sense how they grow as a person with each chapter.
Who are your favorite authors?
I read Amish fiction, Christian mysteries and Christian Living books. Mary Ball is my favorite Christian mystery/romance author. David Jeremiah is one of my favorite Christian Living authors. For Amish, I love Vannetta Chapman.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I have a wonderful critique partner who guided me through the process of self-publishing.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe the future is very bright for self-publishing. I think authors are savvy, and are able to handle the editing and promotion aspects without having to rely on a publisher that might restrict the author's creativity.
What genres do you write?
Christian fiction romance, Christian fiction mystery
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print
