I’m cofounder of Momosa Publishing LLC, publisher of MommyMDGuides.com and the Mommy MD Guides book series. I’m also the coauthor of The Mommy MD Guide to Pregnancy and Birth, The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby s First Year, and The Mommy MD Guide to the Toddler Years. Our new book is The Mommy MD Guide to Losing Weight and Feeling Great. Most important, I’m a mom of two sons.
What inspires you to write?
My mission is to help moms and mom-to-be lead healthier, happier lives. Though I’m also motivated by the need to put food on the table.
Tell us about your writing process.
I like to talk to people, but more so I like to learn about them and get them to talk about themselves. This makes interviewing easy! Then I love to organize things, and I approach writing a book as a process of organizing information. Organizing is my “super power,” and so I’m fortunate that I enjoy that and it goes quickly!
What advice would you give other writers?
Be patient and persistent, and surround yourself with positive people.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
My now business partner and coauthor one day called me to propose we start our own company and publish our books–and then other people’s books. Once I got over my initial panic, I saw the wisdom in her idea, and we haven’t looked back!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I don’t think there’s ever been a better time to be in book publishing. The sky is the limit.
What genres do you write?
parenting, pregnancy, health, diet, fitness, weight loss
What formats are your books in?
Both eBook and Print
