What inspires you to write?
I'm a hopeless romantic! My addiction to books…whether I'm reading or writing…keeps the pages turning and the words flowing.
So much around me inspires my writing…it can be a beautiful sunset to time spent in my small town with wonderful souls. But my main inspiration to write HEAs…my parents. They are my 'fairytale couple'….62 years together and still so much in love…melts my heart!!
Tell us about your writing process.
Still a lil ol'fashioned…I like post-it notes in different colors 🙂 But I also love spreadsheets!!
Creating a character is like having a baby! That perfect name searches to match the profession or the setting. I love to research settings and professions to give it real-to-life feel.
Writing is the profession we can get away with saying…we have imaginary friends!
My friends move in…eat…shower…sleep…walk the dog with me 🙂
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Absolutely! All the time…especially when writing. Asking questions, chatting up a storm…to think & feel like they do.
Writers' Block – when your imaginary friends stop talking to you 🙂
Who are your favorite authors?
Been a Danielle Steele fan since I was a teen…still am!
I love James Patterson for good suspense!
And Carly Phillips for a good spicy read.
But there are soooo many more! I love finding a new author to read.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I've done both. I first published in 2013 with a small traditional publisher and remain with them. I've also self-published after successfully completing the NaNoWriMo challenge of 50,000 words in 30 days 🙂
Both are great and will continue to do it both ways.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
There will always be a future with all of us book addicts. And we're all individuals so it's good that book publishing offers the variety of eBooks, audiobooks, and paperbacks.
What genres do you write?
Romance – Sweet, Spicy, and Suspense
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print, Audiobook
