Alex Berhane is a business development consultant turned wanna-be-writer. He took a hiatus from his family’s thriving business in South Florida to pursue his dream of writing. What better topic to begin with than something he loves to do – listen to people vent? He is the architect, creative mind and chief delegator behind www.VentNation.com, which gave rise to his first published work, “101 Ways to Vent.” As the creator of www.VentNation.com, Alex has come across some many different ways that people choose to vent, and he has compiled them in this sarcastic, humorous book.
What inspires you to write?
What inspired me to write this book, was the fact i run a social media site about venting. I would read a lot of different post about peoples frustration, and thought it would be a cool idea to create a light hearted how to guide about venting.
Tell us about your writing process.
The process in which i start writing, is simple. i have a brain storm session, either by myself or with some friends. I carry a small note pad with me, and i jot down ideas, concepts, angles to start.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
When i first started this project, a friend gave me the idea. I wasn’t even thinking about publishing it at all. I was thinking of chopping it up and do blog articles. Then self publishing started to intrigue me, before i knew it I had an opportunity to be published by a publisher, and I jumped on it.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the publishing industry is similar to the music industry. The internet has changed the landscape and made it easier for people to release their own work. It will come down to not only the quality of the work put out, but how one can stand out in the crowd. I feel creative marketing will play a big part in the future of publishing.
