Joseph Levy Cohen aka Dark Joseph Ravine is a Canadian influencer, actor, and online entrepreneur best known for spreading positive motivation and his movement Kindness for Success. As a social media influencer, his life mission is to promote kindness and positivity to make the world a better place to live in.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Toronto, Ontario. I got influenced to write after years of being belittled and told my writing was not good. I had the determination to prove those people wrong.
What was your journey to getting published like?
It definitely was an adventure for me because I learned about marketing and SEO so now I can do that with almost everything for me and my clients.
What’s the best piece of feedback you’ve ever received?
The best feedback I received was that my book shows the importance of being understanding of a child's behavior and how we all need to learn about the backstories before we have a real opinion.
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
Life is never about you, it's about helping as many people as you can so write a book in regards to benefiting or helping people because it will have a much higher rate of sales and success.
What’s a fun fact about you that your readers might not know?
I always enjoy playing arcade games and winning tickets and prizes.
What’s your guilty pleasure book or genre?
I do not have one sadly.

When you’re not writing, how do you like to spend your time?
I manage my own marketing agency so every day I look for ideas on how to go viral and help myself and my clients grow via social media and SEO.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I was never really impacted by any stories to be honest.
What has inspired you and your writing style?
Just the way I live my life on a daily basis. To keep thinking how to help others with everything I do including my writing.
How do you deal with negative reviews?
I get a lot of hate as it is on social media, but I simply just ignore them because I truly believe they are all just taking out their own life problems out on me.
How do you connect with your readers?
The way I connect with my readers is by sharing how I can possibly make positive changes in their lives as well as help them too.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I still have yet to decide on my next book. I want to write something that will help or benefit people so I need time to think about it.
Are there any Easter eggs or hidden messages in your work?
The only hidden message in my book, Watch Out! It's Nolan, is that a child's bad behavior is not always intentional or personal so that is why it is the older people's responsibility to understand and help them.
How do you approach writing dialogue for your characters?
I approach writing dialogue for my characters in the way that a lot of the content was similar to my life growing up as a child.
If you could share one thing with your fans, what would that be?
Find a way to help people as who want to be helped as much as possible, it will come a long way.
